Born and raised in Vermont, Javen Sears seeks to represent Vermont in the State Senate.


Javen’s built up a reputation as a smart, college educated, youth football coach, and active community leader in his community.

Smart Young Leader

Javen, 24, studied Business at the University of Vermont, where he competed in collegiate debate for the Lawrence Debate Union. Throughout his debate career, he was consistently recognized as a top speaker and earned distinction as a national finalist.

He also serves as an associate intern at the Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies (VCET), a venture capital firm and innovation hub in Burlington that helps accelerate and support technology startups across Vermont.

Hometown hero

For the past several years in his hometown of South Burlington, while attending college, he has helped run a prominent nonprofit youth football program.

In addition, he has volunteered with South Burlington High School’s Track & Field and Debate teams, further demonstrating his commitment to supporting and empowering the next generation.

Vermont’s Future

Javen hopes to pass on the lessons he has learned throughout his life and from his community to the next generation. He believes that strong communities, responsible leadership, and thoughtful public policy can create opportunities for young people to succeed and build their futures in Vermont.
